This bay offers great shallow flat water kiting on a mid tide as the sandbar forms a lagoon close to the beach.
This beach offers great shallow flat water and hard packed sand at a mid to low tide which is great for beginners however on a high tide the water level is easily overhead height and it can become quite choppy so beginners you are best to kite her on a mid to low tide.
In summer the beach is pretty packed with swimmers and as the beach is DOC protected and run make extra caution to respect the other beach goers and keep the peace.
Watch out for the rocks in the middle close to shore.
